That's all fine and good, but that sort of goes around what I want to do. In Sawfish, it's a trivial matter of specifying where you want a window placed with its matched windows. That will happen when Ubuntu upgrades. (A little OT: I used to use Debian, but one of the reasons I switched to Ubuntu was that releases happen far more frequently. Sometimes, it's still not frequent enough, though...)
