I just changed versions of linux on my machine. During the transition, I have been using the default environment -- kde -- since I figured it would have the most useful tools for configuring the system. Now that I have configured/broken everything that I was intending to, I am going to switch back to fvwm.
The biggest tool that I would like to carry over to fvwm is the dynamically generated menus. I have heard some discussions on this list that people don't like the freedesktop.org standards that kde uses and as I understand fvwm doesn't natively support it. Is there a built in way in fvwm to generate menus based on all the applications installed on the system? Alternatively, does anyone already have a script for parsing the kde .desktop files and generating menus from them? thanks, Emilie
