I had some probems with some applications too, like X11, and I also got the
state errors in the log.

I finally disabled in General Properties in the item Stateful Inspection the
check box "Drop out of state TCP packets" and all the applications worked
properly.

Asunto: [FW-1] issue of session breaking surprising!!

Dear Frds ,
I have a major issue....ma clients are running FTP and
1521 and 1526 for about 4 hours or so....
Lets say FTP client x is behind the firewall and FTP
server is outside the firewall..they initiate the
telnet connection from one of the desktop machine to
FTP client and than they doownload the files which
takes about an hour or so..but unfortunately the FTP
session breaks with an error unable to open
communication channel....also same problem is faced in
the oracle clients trying to download tables which
takes around 3 hours and suddenly connection breaks
with oracle error which again says that communication
path was not established or was was broken....
My tcp timeout is 36000 (10 hrs)...also i can see lot
of rejects on the firewall with the information as
trying to open the known service port.
Also I am getting TCP out of state errors in ma
logss....can any one help me ?

Regards
VJ
