Dirk, You can put the file there by ftp (I assumed you got the upgrade from checkpoint's web site, i have no experience with using the cd for upgrade)
get it on the machine via ftp. then (basically) run this command (replace <file_name> with the exact file name of the upgrade tar) mv <file_name> /var/tmp cd /var/tmp tar -xvf <file_name> ./installme.sh keep in mind that you might like to read about doing an upgrade from FP3, as I've mentioned, I only did an upgrade from FP4 R54 to FP4 R55, which didn't require anything but running the upgrade itself. If you have a spare machine, install FP3 and test the upgrade there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Verweyen, Dirk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Shoval Tomer '" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, January 05, 2004 4:34 PM Subject: AW: [FW-1] for Verweyen, Dirk > Thank you Shoval, > > how can i put the file to /var/tmp ? > With ftp or copy from CD? > Have you the command for decomress the tgz? > Have i call the installme.sh File for upgrade? > > Thanks a lot for your help, > > Dirk > > > > -----Originalnachricht----- > Von: Shoval Tomer > An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Gesendet: 05.01.04 13:12 > Betreff: [FW-1] for Verweyen, Dirk > > Try putting the tgz file in /var/tmp , decompress and upgrade from > there. > I had the same problem when upgrading from R54 to R55\good luck > > ================================================= > To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, > send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > in the BODY of the email add: > set fw-1-mailinglist nomail > ================================================= > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, > please see the instructions at > http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html > ================================================= > If you have any questions on how to change your > subscription options, email > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ================================================= ================================================= To set vacation, Out-Of-Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
