Hi Gurus,

I have a totally newly installed VPN-1 FP4 firewall, and a separated
management
module with FP4. Both of them are running on Secure Platform. There is
nothing special on the policy just firewalling, and VPN for Secure
Remote clients on
traditional mode, no content filtering or IDS or something like that. I
have thousands
of VPN users but currently only 25 use this firewall system. It has only
a 4 Mbit/s
LL to the Internet shared with other servers. There are only an exchange
and a
webserver in the VPN domain.

Sometimes the an fw process eates the CPU 99,9% said by top and then the

logging becomes to stopped. Meanwhile the vmstat does not show high
rates.
Everything looks fine, except the logging. I can manage the FW (like
install new
policy), Smart Status is OK. I can see nothing on the Smart Tracker logs
of
course.

If I kill fw process, which makes the high CPU utilization and start
again with fwstart,
or make a cpstop/cpstart, the logging will start again.

Has anybody an idea why does the fw process eat my CPU, or how could I
debug
 why?

Best regadrs,
