Good Afternoon Lori,

As per our conversation, after my discussion with
Sr.Engineering, Voyager's display of Memory Utilization is correct.
1) Voyager correctly displays the Memory Utilization correctly.
2) Run the command ps -aux, the second column will display the user
processes memory. By obtaining the Sum of this column it will add upto the
approximate memory posted
    in Voyager.
3) Once the appliance requires more memory, it swaps out to the swap space
(1Gig). Here it places some data in the swap space to allow for the
processes that require
immediate memory. Once complete it retrieves the data from the swap
space & keeps it in it memory.
To know if the swap space is used run, "swapinfo" on the Nokia appliance.
If the swap space is being maxed out then it would be better to try
to recuperate some memory for some processes that are not required.
4) Some of the processes listed in the ps -aux can be edited so that they
do not run. This will recuperate some of the memory back to the system.

Does anyone know where to find how the Nokia utilizes memory? I have a pair
of IP530's that are running at 90% memory utilization. Not sure if this is
necessarily bad. I looked at disk swap activity and that is 5% or below.
They have 256MB of RAM and I wanted to add another 256MB of RAM but I'm not
sure that this will bring down the utilization percentage or if I really
need to do that.

Thanks,
Brian
