Recently we have enabled smtp with resource on our firewall (from any to our mail server) to stop relaying. The smtp resource is configured only to pass the emails if the recipient is from our domain. This worked fine for some time but when we enabled imap access from any to our mail server with a rule (which is on top of the smtp resource rule) the users can read their mails using imap, send mails within the domain, but when they try to email to different domains, they fail. But when we replace the smtp with resource rule with smtp allow, they can send mail. A Confusing situation it is... Any comments?
