hi, this depends on what OS is running on your new firewall.
in general: I would clear the arp-cache on the boxes around your firewall and not play around with mac-addresses ... cheers reinhard ))) Message sent using Nokia Access Mobilizer ((( Internet Security AG - www.internet-security.ag --- Original Message --- From: Tech <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Fri Jul 23 20:15:12 CEST 2004 Subject: [FW-1] Replacing old 4.1 SPARC box with new NG FP2 SPAC box - ARP issues? Hi- I need to replace a 4.1 box with 6 nic's with a new box with six nic's. I tried this today but had problems with being able to ping internal hosts. I'm suspecting that the ARP caches are causing me problems. What I'd like to try is setting the mac address's for each of the nics in the new box to match the corresponding nic in the old box. Does anyone know of any problems with doing this? thanks __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
