Sounds like a firmware issue completely. We had issues with a model,
can't remember which, but after a firmware upgrade it worked like a
charm.

I have a DLink 624 router and SecureClient works with no problems!
I suggest you visit DLink's support site and look for a firmware
upgrade.

We have never been able to get a DLink router 600 series to work with
SecuRemote/SecureClient. The 714 model and Linksys models worked
instantly.
A message I found said that setting the MTU on the DLink to 1000 helped
them
make it work, for whatever that's worth.
