Hello, in every new installation I do for a customer I always disable the implied rules - you can always make explicit rules as long as you know your Check Point installation. There are some services that you will need occasionaly, for example if and when you will upgrade you firewall module(s) via SmartUpdate. On the other hand, there was one occasion where I had to enable the implied rules when a customer requested a site-to-site VPN with a partner of theirs. It just wouldn't work, unless I enabled the implied rules.
