As an additional remark, especially when going from windows to a unix-like platform, if you ever have edited a conf file on windows, and didn't use a proper editor, you can have issues when transferring it to a non windows platform. I had this problem a few years ago when going from a Windows (customer did edit some files himself - AND it was completely working on windows) to a Solaris system. Only when performing a policy install, and thus compiling the policy problems appeared, and it takes quite some troubleshooting to find exactly which file and what had happened...
