Hello Joshua, Hello List!

Did you try a smtp-resource?
You will get many options to strip/modify the mail-header.
But: If your Firewall is under heavy load you should consider that you will need additional resources such as HHD-Space, a faster CPU and RAM. It will also "produce" a little delay in SMTP-Traffic. This one worked well in R55 for one of my Customers.

Regards
Thorsten

Subject: [FW-1] Problem with SMTP Security Server

Hi there,
I can’t get my head around a current problem on R61.
We have a rule for mail from the network to use a special resource which sends emails through a CVP (esafe CVP). We also have an internal server with an external IP and we want the mail header for emails from this server to contain its own IP address. I created a rule to say from internal server, to any, through smtp, accept. Placed this above the other rule. Logs show it is matching on the correct rule, but the mail is still showing as from the Firewalls IP Address (as told by the SMTP Security Server) and not the source IP. I tried messing about with some NAT rules which make no difference. An fw monitor shows the connection for the destination mail server being natted to the SMTP Security server even though it is not matching on any possible rule to do that! If anyone has advice or experience regarding this it would be much appreciated.
