Well,

My Linux server doesn't seem to have the curl installed. I tried to run on 
it and it didn't find that command.

I was talking with a buddy here about this. He said that could be also 
some router problem regarding the package fragmentation, window size and 
MTU. I doubt because I had the FTP working before.
