Most HFA installation failures on Windows-based system are caused by
incorrect stoppage of all Check Point services. As a consequence, your
library files are likely locked by the OS.

After you've issued a cpstop command, make sure there are no running
processes running in the background (use services.msc from the Run command
to view services status)

Stop anything that starts with cp*. Make sure the fwm.exe process is also
NOT running from your Task manager.

Hi 

Has anyone had any problems installing the hotfixes on Smart Center running
Windows 2003 R2, i have tried several times to run HFA_50 and 40 but it
fails, erros such as cppshared.dll, 

is this due to the service pack 2 or is this becasue this is R2

After i try and install the hotfix i cannot open up smart dashboard or run
any fw commands, i have to uninstall all checkpoint and do the import config
etc again 

i simply run the setup.bat file locatged either on the desktop or in the
temp folder, is there a way i can just uninstall the hotfix without
corrupting all the other Checkpoint software, hence reverting back to just
NGX R65 and not hotfix?
