Traditional Mode properties are only used when you have a Traditional Mode policy in place (which uses Encrypt rules for VPN). The default since R55 is to use Simplified Mode which uses VPN Communities. In this mode, shared secrets are stored in the VPN Community, not in the gateway properties.
It used to be possible to read the shared secret stored in the Community, but Checkpoint has changed the GUI to make the secret unreadable in recent versions. If you don't have the secret recorded somewhere else, you will just have to set up a new secret. They are not stored in an unencrypted file somewhere. a bv <[email protected]> wrote: > > I click on the remote gateways object to edit, click the VPN tab on > the opened window , click traditional mode > configuration and then preshared secret .
