Not exactly your problem but I did encounter this recently which the SK
solution solved:
Unable to restore backup file on fresh install of R75.40
Symptoms
. Restore process fails with following error:
The package selected for revert is version R75, which is incompatible with the
current version (R75Failed to find the value).
Cause
Before restoring the files, the 'SubVersionText' entry is checked in Check
Point Registry file on the machine - $CPDIR/registry/HKLM_registry.data.
In case of fresh install of R75.40, 'SubVersionText' field is missing in Check
Point Registry file, which causes the restore process to fail.
Solution
To repair registry data on the machine, please run following command once on
fresh install of R75.40, and only then start the restore process:
# cpprod_util CPPROD_SetValue CPshared SubVersionText 1 "" 1
NOTE: command survives machine reboot
