Gaia is necessary if you need to migrate to ipv6. It support the native stack.
It is good, but never try an upgrade from sp!

Subject: [FW-1] GAIA vs SPLAT

Hi,

Wanna ask the list especially the users who use or used SPLAT and
GAIA. What advantages did you find GAIA ? In what situations u prefer
GAIA? And what about the performance issue and hardware choice? Does
GAIA need more hardware resources than similiar SPLAT deployments?

Regards
