hi my experience with NIDS is for high performance links like up to 100m till 500m you work with your ids in combination with a L4 L7 switch like ex.Alteon you put mirrored ports in combination with as many agents as needed for the scanning banthwith provider for the nids's is ISS kind regards K@rel
