Hi Eric,
very litle info given but i thought i'd try to help.. what are you existing rules for FTP?
I made a script for the automatic download of virus updates from mcaphee and specified the target and destination systems
to be allowed to FTP adding the workstation 'IP' and destination 'IP' TCP/FTP allow...
Also (nothing to do with the firewall) I've had problems using names to ftp and got around this by ftping the IP for HP ftp.hp.com [192.6.118.97]
IBM ftp.pc.ibm.com [204.146.167.81] either way hope this helps, success.

Hello list:

I am unable to FTP from HP and IBM.  I am able to connect but never receive the login prompt to ftp.hp.com or ftp.pc.ibm.com.  Well, I don't time out I just never get the login prompt.

This has become to be a real pain in the rear.  I am using Checkpoint FW-1 4.1 SP5 on a Windows 2000 SP2 Firewall and Management PC.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
