Hi Guys

1. Securemote would not work from behind a proxy (we have tried it quite
some time back). It needs certain ports to be open on the proxy. See
attached Doc which says

*******************************************
SecuRemote from Behind a Proxy Server
Q:I need to allow SecuRemote access to clients who are behind a Microsft
Proxy server and must use the Proxy server to get to the Internet. How can I
make this work?

A:
You can't.
SecuRemote can not be used through a proxy server. The TCP connection isn't
usually the problem, it's the UDP connection that needs to occur on port 259
and the IP protocol 94 packets. I don't know of a proxy server that handles
either one of these in a way that is compatible with SecuRemote.

2. Load Securemote on the machine with the broadband connection, this way it
will encrypt the entire traffic which is destined for Secure network from
the LAN or from the gateway machine.

Let me know if this has helped.

Subject: Re: [FW-1] Satellite Broadband issues with SecuRemote

I am currently working with a user that is using Starband satellite
broadband. We are currently having a problem getting Secure Remote to work
through the WinProxy that comes with the satellite. So my answer is, check
to see if they use a WinProxy or acceleration software with the satellite
connection. You could have problems. I will leave a post if I figure out
how to get it working. Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks in advance for all your kind suggestions, we are thinking of using
SecuRemote over Satellite Broadband are there any issues I should be aware
of. I have following stats from ISP

Download Speed Through Satellite = 1.5 MBits
Upload Speed Through 56K Modem = 56K
Ping Time = 2 x 400 ms

Thank You
