I have been investigating my ftp problem a bit more, and it is related to
PASV ftp connections. I have PASV FTP checked in the FW1 Properties, and
my ftp server is IIS4.
When I try a client such as ws_ftp, PORT connections work fine. PASV fails
with a rejection at the firewall. We tried IE5 and it worked, but Netscape
failed.
What seems to happen is the client (outside the firewall) opens a
connection to the ftp server. The client logs in, and after PASV is sent,
the ftp server tries to connect back to the client with a source port of
ftp and the service is listed as the source port for the client's initial
connect. The firewall rejects this.
Why is this not working?
