Hi Matthew,
Firewall - 1 can perform proxy arp. Within the state directory create a file
called local.arp containing the IP address of the host you wish to
communicate with and the mac address of the LAN interface of the firewall on
your side of the network.
In the past this has either worked imeadiatly or not at all. If it fails to
work use the arp command on NT to pop the information onto the box.
Hope this helps
Andy

Subject: [FW1] Proxy ARP
Hi,
Can FW-1 on Windows NT be made to proxy ARP for networks which are
reachable through it, similar to the way routers can be configured
to respond to ARP requests for hosts on directly connected subnets.
The internal interface on a FW-1 has an address from the range 10.0.0.0/8,
but a network 10.252.0.0/16 is reachabe through another interface of the
FW-1.
Therefore the FW-1 needs to proxy ARP for the 10.252.0.0/16 network.
Unfortunately, the 10.0.0.0/8 is historical, and can't easily be
changed to accommodate a different mask, which would of course help to
solve the problem, as conventional routing would then be applicable.
Cheers,
Matt
