It may be me, but, if Microsoft had implemented RFC compliant Name
Resolution, this wouldn't be a problem. I don't wish to see Firewall-1
bastardized to "support" Microsoft's weak implementation of LANMAN
protocols.

Firewall-1 is written to comply with all known RFC's for TCP/IP. If we
start looking for Firewall-1 to support Netbios over TCP/IP, when will it
stop? When someone asks for DECNet encapsulated in IPX, wrapped in TCP/IP
to be translated?

BTW, I am an NT System Admin, not Unix. We live this everyday, and don't
like Microsoft's implementation of NBT, as it is unstable, and just plain
stupid.

Hello,

did you recently install NAT on your FW-1?
We ran into similar problems because of the fact that FW-1 only
translates the IP header and NOT the NETBIOS header so the connection
between Exchange and the client (using a cached account) did work
But no connection to the PDC was possible because of the WINS-server
resolving to not-NATted IPs...
