Hi,

Timo is most correct in his assessment of FullCluster's operation. The cluster
itself has no single master machine or "management" server per se. The term
"management server" for FullCluster simply refers to the machine(s) on which you
wish to run the GUI or the command line interface to control the cluster and
monitor its operation. You can have those tools on the nodes themselves
(although it's not recommended to run the GUI, as it's Java-based and can be
resource intensive as a result), or on a separate machine. It is completely
independent from the FireWall-1 management server or FireWall-1 GUI, although
customers typically install our GUI with the FireWall-1 GUI. You could put the
management server on HP-UX without any problems, and run the FullCluster GUI on
a Macintosh if you really wanted to (assuming you have a JRE 1.18 for it), and
have the FullCluster command line (sbfc) on an NT or Linux workstation to
control a Solaris cluster.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen... :)
