Boyd,
Using the site, http://mjhb.marina-del-rey.ca.us/cgi-bin/ipw.pl, I gained the
following information:

        NS.ISI.EDU 128.9.128.127
        NIC.NEAR.NET 192.52.71.4

        Record last updated on 30-Dec-1999.
Database last updated on 20-Jun-2000 06:46:46 EDT.

As to getting details of the different types of frequently-used multicast
formats and who has them, try :
http://www.isi.edu/in-notes/iana/assignments/multicast-addresses. It looks like
 what you are hunting for.

Hope this helps, instead of adding to the confusion.
Scott McHenry,
Sys Eng / CSC

Subject: [FW1] Looking for a Source

A meta-question of sorts: Does anyone have a pointer to a good reference
site for the details of the different types of frequently-used multicast
formats? In a pinch, a reference on router broadcast formats might do,
but I'd love to have a quick reference for what it means when I see
something like 226.0.0.10 in the logs.
