Hi
Sorry for this VERY off topic email but if anyone has a view on this please
could they email me directly (it's kinda related as the introduction of
FW-1/VPN etc. has hastened our requirement for internal review):-
Using 3COM hubs/switches with Cisco routers pretty much throughout network.
Now 3COM have withdrawn from top-end networking (and we are due for LAN/WAN
review anyway) I am looking at options, HP, IBM, Cisco, Lucent etc....
3COM still doing SSIIs but don't think they are a good long term bet.
Lucent do a good trade-in for SSIIs and would be a natural fit into our
Systimax 110 wiring system but I have found them unapproachable in the past
when I want to ask questions or just buy a few add-on cables connectors.
The easiest thing would be just to get Cisco kit as we want to stay with
Cisco on the router front and we would have just one management system but
I would like to know experiences of other people (particularly UK based as
support that's great in, say, Holland may be not so in UK - e.g. HP,
Xircom).
TIA
Tim Higgins
