Dont get your hopes up I Still cant get it to work heheh. Poxt thing, I
built a third lab system to try it out just to see if the first lad
experiment was a fluke. Was'nt though, it worked first time DOH !.
Anyone out there know what these errors mean in the Event log on the
Exchange server ? I.e. in releation to the LDAP service (Tried Technet & all
the other possible Blue Screen parties.)
Event ID is 1239
Error number is 1326
Error message contained within the log file is
Authenticated bind attempt by Recipients\user.name failed with error 1326.
I've isolated the Firewall from the cause of the problem and communication
between the two devices is fine (an LDAP://exchange_server request in I.E
works fine). I is pulling whats left of my hair out over this one :-/.

I got a wee bit more info. The Firewall is definatley running the query
against the Directory on the exchange server (I managed to get logging
turned on on the LDAP protocol on the Exchange Server). The problem appears
to be with the exchange directory of the NT domain. Not sure which errr
Event log message is as follows.
Authenticated bind attempt by RECIPIENTS\Andy.Martin failed with the error
1326
Its being a reel git :-)
