I'm not sure about active directory, what I can gather, firewall-1 can
intergrate
with both dhcp and NT(4) domain controllers, so that a clients IP address
can be
dynamicly mapped to user's on firewall, this avoids the user having to
authenticate
on the domain, and authenticate again when accessing the firewall.
See UAM documentation for more info.
Cheers,
Lee

Subject: [FW1] FW-1 vs VPN-1

Hello all,

I am new to the Checkpoint world. I am trying to find out more info about
VPN-1 gateway. Is this a package that I can add onto my FW-1 installation,
or is it a totally seperate product that I have install instead of FW-1? If
that is the case, will it do everything FW-1 will, but with the VPN stuff,
or is it a totally seperate product? Their web page makes it seem like it
is a superset of FW-1, but I am not sure...

Also, has anyone compared this with Windows 2000 solutions that Microsoft
provides (I am not sure of these products). How well does this integrate
with Windows 2000? Can it authenticate with MS AD? What types of clients
can use the VPN-1 clients? I am imagining that only Windows boxen will be
able to use the W2K solution.

Thanks!

Jeremy
