Maybe the Lucent product is good BUT Checkpoint FW-1 has about 52% or the
world firewall market (60% plus in Europe) will have better skill
availability and equipment/3rd party add-ons available.
I know that this is not exactly directly related but:-
For me running Lucent Systimax 110 cabling system is a right pain in the *%
&! because rather than pop down to a local cable store for UTP patch cables
in an emergency for pennies, I have to buy special cables at inflated cost
from a supplier that is not interested and doesn't recognise the part
number I am after.......
Now - I suspect that Lucent like to keep things difficult to get hold of
and pricey - I wouldn't trust them.
I've had many a moan myself about CP and FW-1 but the bottom line is that
it is probably the best option (at the moment - we don't want CP to become
complacent here !).

Lucent vs FW-1

Has anyone had any expierence with Lucent's remote access services/vpn? My
boss is thinking of replacing FW-1 with Lucent's solution. He thinks that
they will be able to offer a more robust vpn compared to FW-1 VPN.
