The rule of thumb I use is whenever you install something that requires you
to put the original NT cd in (for instance if you install RAS or NWLink
protocol, etc) that you re-SP.

Any apps don't require accessing the original NT CDrom don't require SP'ing.

Subject: [FW1] NT Service Packs: newbie question

Hi All,

My FW is on Solaris, but I run Websense and eSafe on
an NT CVP/URI/AV box.

Folks tell me that whenever I install anything, that I
need to re-apply the SPs.

So, if I install Adobe Acrobat for NT on my NT box,
I'll need to re-apply SP5? Seems silly to me, but is
this the case?

How about this: When I upgraded Websense v3.11 to 4.2
-- should I reinstall SP5?

Thanks for helping such an NT newbie!
-- Chris
