This is a very standard config. You can lock down in/out
connections to/from any networks as you need.

Subject: [FW1] System(s) Placement
I have been asked to come up with a design to protect a
web server, that'll be used for both public and client
specific use. By client specific, I mean that current
customers will be able to do many types of transactions
from/to this system. Now the data for the client specific
customers will be coming from an application/database
server, which ultimately will get updates from another
system.
My question is/are: Can we 'safely' protect this web
server and our site? Where is the best placement for a
system like this? The other systems?
My first guess would be to place the web system in a
DMZ, but it will still need to access other systems
in a 'trusted' environment - maybe.
Any assistance that can be provided would be much
appreciated.
Thank you for any & all assistance.
