We have FireWall-1 4.1 SP2 set up on two Nokia IP440 boxes in a
primary-secondary configuration with an NT 4.0 management consol.

My question is where are the log files being stored? When I do a "file/new"
from the log viewer, my current log gets saved to a file with the default
(date) name and I can see that file in the "log" subdirectory in Windows
Explorer. Does this mean that the logs are NOT being stored anywhere on
the Nokia boxes?

What I would like to do is write a script that will automatically save the
logs to a file on a daily basis so that I can do a weekly backup to tape and
then delete them. Do I write this script and run it under NT from the MC (if
so, I assume I would use the "logswitch" command, which, I can't find a
"logswitch.exe" file on the MC)? Or do I somehow write a script and have
it run on the Nokia boxes?

If someone has a similar setup and is running a backup routine similar to
what I've described, could you please lend your input? Perhaps a sample
script and a brief description of how the process works?

Thanks,
Dave Johnson
