goood morning...
well, I've stumbled into trouble here. I'm using FW-1 to NAT a quite large office-lan
to the outside world. so far so good.
now however, I have to provide outside access to an internal oracle 8.3.x DB via
sql/net <sic>.
my personal opinion is to just NAT the oracle-db-server's ports 1526/tcp and 1521/tcp
to some official IP. clients IMHO should have no trouble accessing the db then, should
they?
other bright heads mentioned using an application-level proxy for sql/net. huh!
I'd love to hear your opinions / experiences on this topic...
looking forward...
