The older service packs had the GUI patch built into the service pack.
sp2 has a separate build for the GUI; look for it on the same d/l page as
the sp2. (It's a bit hidden!)
Your reseller has idiots working there. Have them fired asap.
Running an incompatible GUI with a management server will leave a mess you
don't want to clean up.

Subject: [FW1] apply sp2 to GUI?
I wanted to upgrade my 4.1 GUI to sp2, but I am getting an error that FW-1
version 4.1 cannot be found. It sounds like it's looking for the FW module
which is NOT installed, since my management server (running v4.1 sp2) is
running on a separate machine.
I have been told by our reseller's tech support that the Windows GUI doesn't
need service patches, but I'm skeptical for two reasons:
(1) there is a "To install the Windows GUI" section in the sp2 release
notes.
(2) I did apply a patch to my 4.0 GUI.
Anyone know if the GUI does need service patches?
