Oh boy. If my memory serves me right (Iron Chef), I've been to your
situation :). Assuming your Armada is already configured right (WINS of the
internal network, LMHOSTS if needed) pop out your NIC, remove NIC Adapter
from Network Neighborhood. Reboot and log back on. Connect to your ISP,
setup your SR site, authenticate and validate then log on to the remote
network.
As per Checkpoint, SR does not work well with NT 4.0 on a laptop with a NIC.
I even tried creating another profile, no luck. Everytime I need to use SR,
I have to remove it and connect to my ISP.
Y'all might have a different approach to get it to work, would you mind
sharing it? Above steps worked fine with me.
Just my 2 cents.....
Regards,
Joaquin

Subject: [FW1] SecuRemote client in NT 4.0!
Hi,
I have Compaq Armada 7400, running NT 4.0 SP5 with a Compaq
Netelligent 10/100 PC card. I installed SR 4153 client with encryption only
for Wan Adapter(modem). I installed the SR client without a problem, and
rebooted Laptop, however I can't launch the SR program, and I don't get any
error message either. However, after I installed the client and rebooted the
machine, I can't dial up to ISP anymore, I dialed up fine, after doing the
authentication, it gives me the error : TCP/IP CP reported errors, the
system cannot find the drive specified.
Anybody has any ideas what it is all about, and which configurations
I can check if the installation is fine.
Thanks,
Irene
