Alberto,
I had the same problem. I recommend applying the following fix that CP
gave me:
Increasing kernal memory.
On Windows NT:
1. Run regedt32 (the registry editor)
2. Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\FW1\Parameters
3. Select "Add Value" from the Edit menu
4. The value's name is Memory, and the data type is REG_DWORD
5. Enter the new amount of kernel memory (in bytes)
6. Reboot
Also,
Go into your fw/Lib directory. Replace the file "fwntperf.dll" with the
one from "Service Pack 2 Backup." The dll file may have been corrupted with
the SP2 upgrade.
Good luck,
Justin

Subject: [FW1] Log viewer 4.1 SP1 and SP2 (Dr. Watson error)
Does anyone have a fix for this.
I'm geting a NT Dr. Watson Error every time I open up my FW-1 Log viewer.
Here is what the error in the NT Dr. Watson Window says
An Application error has occurred and an application log is being
generated.
fw.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x78008ab5
Here is the error in the NT Event System Log
The application, WIN32/fw_Strong.exe, generated an application error
The error occurred on 8/16/2000 @ 11:45:26.718
The exception generated was c0000005 at address 78008ab5 (strcmpi)
This is a newly created Management Station used to administer all my remote
firewall modules (remote modules running FW-1 SP2 Strong)
The Management Server is running on NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a.
It's running on a Compaq Proliant 1600 (Dual PIII 600, 512 RAM, Ultra2 Hard
Disks, using Compaq Intergrated Netelligent 10/100 nic )
The verion of Check Point the Management is running is FW-1 4.1 SP1.
I even upgraded the FW-1Management and GUI to SP2 and I still had the Dr.
Watson.
Any tips?
Thanks
AC
