Josef:
I had hard time myself getting detailed info on this and no one responded
back from the mailing list, anyhow we
went thru the normal upgrade on Solaris. It did not ask us about backward
compatibility. When the upgrade was complete
I just made sure that my managment server had 4.1 checked off. It been about
2-3 months we had
not had any issues controlling the 4.0 modules. However we did notice that if
you do have by any chance
duplicate objects sharing the IP and if you delete one, it does comeback.
Checkpoint's solution was to delete both objects from
the GUI and from objects.C file and re-create the object again. Make sure you
backup your files just in case and Good Luck !!!

Subject: CP2K Backward Compatibility
Dear James,
I just read your question concerning backward compatibility on
CP4.1.
I also have to do an upgrade of a management server using the
backward compatibility "feature".
Do you have any hints for me or some documents how to do this
and what problems might occur.
Thanks
Josef
