We are in the process of rolling out a new Remote Access Service to our
organisation. Over the period of the last few months we have been testing
Securemote software on a variety of WIN95 and NT4 workstations. On all of these
clients the Securemote Software has remained running in the background and no
challenge has been made to the user whilst using services via the LAN or via our
legacy RAS offering. The client has only needed to enter their strong
authentication whilst dialled up to the service containing the firewall.
One one PC last week, we installed Securemote in the same way as other installs
and found that the securemote sw challenged the user for strong authentication
irrespective of whether they were connected to the firewall or not. Has anyone
had this experience? Is this correct or is there some fix that can be applied
to the PC to prevent it happening again.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
