On Solaris, by default, the logs are in /var/adm. Look at /var/adm/messages.
Also by default, /var/log/syslog contains mail debugging messages.
On Linux(Redhat 6.1), look in /var/logs.
Hope those are the platforms you are working with. Good luck.

Subject: [FW1] syslog clearing
I think that my external.if file was not set up properly with the external
interface of our firewall. I need to know how to clear or at least look at
the syslog to find out. I think it might be slowing down our firewall.
Thanks for any guidance.
