Hello Matt,   By default, communication between fw modules and management console is encrypted (you set the encryption key by issuing command 'fw putkey'). So you don't have to encript from de fw module to the console module. If you want to set a VPN from a site to another, then you must have two fw modules with the same encryption algorithm (DES, 3DES or FWZ).
