All,
I have a 4.0 sp7 firewall module that I can't upgrade to 4.1 sp3 yet. I
have an immediate need to allow Oracle 8 communications through it, and
obviously can't use the sqlnet1 or sqlnet2 objects that come with 4.0,
as they expect the protocol negotiation used by version 7. Has anyone,
by chance, been able to port the new inspect code included with 4.1 (for
the sqlnet2 object) to 4.0, to allow Oracle 8 through a 4.0 firewall
without blindly allowing "tcp-high-ports"? Thanks very much.
