Installing package. We only run FW-1 on the firewall. that would be our
policy no matter what OS it was.
We do not have services that have mysteriously stopped
I do not need a hot rod in my environment a 4 door sedan is fine, i am not
image critical.
Cost NT US$350, no CALs required
About the equvilent of a penny in the true overall cost of running a
firewall.
What would that be $350 about 4 hours for a linux guru or your wage for a
day or two? (I am unfamilar with US pay rates)
We know NT, hell I used it when it was 3Com 3+Open.
You may know linux/soalris/nokia.
Everyone should stick with what OS you know well.
OK I have not got to 5 9s for the NT servers I look after but I consider 4
9s a damn good A-

How about rebooting after installing a package, or having to start a service
that
mysteriously stopped. Those things only indicate stability what about
performance?
Have you even seen Linux benchmarks? Oh yeah, there is the price thing too.
How much do
you have invested in NT? Linux is FREE. Yes, the apps are free too
including sendmail,
samba (for your Windows users), netatalk, etc. No purchasing of CALs on
Linux.
Respectfully,
