[FW1] LAN Frame Trouble

FW-1 V4.1 on IBM AIX. My colleague has a trouble about LAN frame type. After he changed, verifyed and installed the rule of FW-1, LAN frame type that FW-1 forwards changed from Ethernet V2 to IEEE802.3. I cannot distinguish which is the cause of this problem FW-1 or AIX. Does the FW-1 affects the LAN frame type ?
