Hi all,

I have a problem with configuration a simple Checkpoint HA. I am using two
Solaris 7 machines, one with qe quad card and another with hme quad card. I
have followed very closely to the manual, from export/import MAC address,
putting priorities and doing syncronization (or not). Everything seems to
run well, as one is being active and another being in standby status.

Problem is, when I try to ping from a client to its default gateway (one of
the fw interface), I get a very inconsistent ping. Snooping both fw servers
tells me that the two firewalls are accepting the ping request, but the
active one is replying. Sometimes both are just accepting request but not
replying at all.

Question:
1. Can I use switches for this configuration?
2. What is the difference between TCP sync and UDP sync? How do I
configure both method? (Current config has no sync)
3. I believe there are more things to be configured than just relying on
the manual....any other crucial steps I am missing out?

To the heros who has successfully implemented a HA environment, pls help me
reach enlightenment!!! Thanking all in advance :)
