A service pack is a package of patches/bugfixes, new settings and updates
that
are generally meant to fix problems with the current version of your SW.
(So it shouldn't really introduce new functionality, though it sometimes
does)
A hotfix is just a patch, that is published to fix a specific problem,
until the next service pack or a version upgrade includes the fix as a
permanent
solution. (Hotfix is Checkpoints term for their patches, same term as
Microsoft uses)
The "RPD Patch" is just the name some of us use to refer to the RDP Hotfix.
Think of hotfixes as small patches (fixes one problem), SPs as large patches
(fixes multiple problems).
