Hey all,

We had this same problem with Windows 2000 Clients during a deployment. You
need to really scour the registry for any reference to SecuRemote and remove
them manually. I believe that there were also some .vxd files involved in
the install. You need to search for the registry references for these files
and remove those as well. I think that did it for us.

I probably should have written down the procedure. If I have time I'll
recreate the problem and write something up really quick.

Keith

Sam,

I've run into the same scenario. I did verified that the registry was clean
and the install.log file had no instances of checkpoint or Secureremote.
But, found no solution. I've also tried to install the 4176 build, hoping it
will allow me to install it and then upgrade it to 4185 but it failed as
well. Does anyone else encounter this problem, if so what did you do to fix
it?

Does anyone know why after uninstalling securemote and installation of a new
version of securemote on NT2000 I am getting this error message

" setup has found that Firewall-1 is installed on this computer, please
uninstall it before installing securemote "

and I don not have ever installed Firewall and the only checkpoint product
was GUI which was removed and it did not fix the problem.

thanks,

Sam
