I should be grateful if somebody can explain the difference in the observed
behavior of FW1 and http.

If Internet Explorer is configured to 'Use a proxy server' and the address
of the proxy is given as the internal address of the firewall, then logged
http access shows a good level of detail of sites accessed. If the 'Use a
proxy server' is subsequently unchecked, then only a minimum of detail is
logged. Both options create problems for http access, the first causing
'Unknown www server' on some sites, the second fixes that problem but the
level of logging is unacceptable.

I am running Client Autentication on FW1 (SP4) on Solaris 2.7

Any ideas would be gratefully received.
