Just a pont of comparison:

http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.service.amazon.html

http://framework.zend.com/wiki/display/PLAY/Zend_Service_Amazon

If we don't like the built-in wiki PDF/HTML export, and we have a wiki-to-docbook conversion, then we won't lose anything by authoring content using the wiki.

Cheers,
Gavin

Hi list!

I have posted this email to fw-docs before. Thought I'd drop it here too, because I could use everyone's point of view on this one.

Currently, the manual is build using docbook. This can be a serious hassle for those willing to contribute to the manual (Subversion, docbook, compiling, etc …) The proposed change is to move from docbook to wiki.

I am working on the automatic translation of docbook to HTML, docbook to Wiki, and Wiki to docbook, which is currently in progress. (read more on my blog http://andries.systray.be)

The English manual will be used for testing, and if everything works out well, a full conversion for each language will follow.

I have made a first draft for the docbook to wiki conversion.

The following page shows an example for a single docbook file:
http://framework.zend.com/wiki/display/PLAY/Zend_Service_Amazon

I would like to make the switch to the wiki as convenient as possible
for all translation teams. So, please have a look, and let me know what
you think. (improvements, suggestions, etc..)

Best regards,
