Hy,
Region Codes which are equal to Country Codes,
which you mentioned, are normaly handled by Zend_Locale.
BUT as you are building ontop from Zend_Currency
for normalization and localization you should use the interface from
Zend_Currency. It gives you the wished information as it derives from
Zend_Locale.
