FYI, ZF 0.2 should work at 1&1, out of the box, without using mod_rewrite.

Perhaps you were sold bogus info, because I'm using mod_rewrite quite
successfully on 1&1. And you're right, they're very up-to-date on
their PHP installations. I also think their Control Panel is SO much
better than GoDaddy's (last I saw it at least)...
